Tables give your team a lightweight database inside Hops. Use them to track candidates, log research, brainstorm messaging, or keep a CRM-style pipeline — anything that fits into rows and columns.

Ask Hops for a table and it's built, populated, and saved into the Space — ready to filter and edit.

Like docs, tables live inside a Space, so Hops can read and update them as part of that Space’s context. Open Docs & Tables from the left sidebar to browse every table you have access to. Tables and docs now share one section, organised by place.

Items are organised by where they live:
  • My Docs & Tables — items in your personal space.
  • Spaces — items inside each space and chat you belong to.
  • Shared with me — items someone else shared with you.
  • Externally shared — items shared with people outside your workspace.
  • Recent and Starred — what you opened lately and what you’ve marked as favorites.

Create a table

  • Click New at the top of Docs & Tables, or the global + button in the left sidebar, and choose Table.
  • In the New table form, name the table and pick what it tracks: tasks, projects, clients, deals, contacts, bugs, or your own word such as “recipes”.

Presets start with the right fields and a board, and the table’s icon shows everywhere the table is named. You can also ask Hops to set up a table the same way.

Working with a table

A table opens in Grid view, with column headers across the top and one row per record. Click any cell to edit inline. Click a row to open its full record.

Generate a table with Hops

Hops can create a fully-formed table for you. Ask in chat and the table is built with columns, populated with rows, and saved into the current Space.
The new table lands in the Space’s Tables tab immediately — sort, filter, or hand it back to Hops for enrichment.

Column types

Pick the right type per column so filters, sorts, and Hops updates behave predictably. Click a column header to rename, change type, or reorder. Linked entries show as clickable names instead of raw IDs.

Views

Save different perspectives of the same data as views. Every view has its own filter, sort, and column visibility.
A table in the default Grid view.Grid — the default spreadsheet layout.
A table filtered to show only Closed Won entries.Filtered views — e.g. “Open deals only,” “This quarter,” “My rows.”
A table grouped by Status.Grouped views — collapse rows by a Select column like status or owner.
A table shown as a calendar.Calendar — place each entry on the day held by a date field you choose.
Switch views from the view bar at the top of the table. When views overflow the bar, the button shows how many are folded (for example “3 more…”) and New view + stays visible.

Calendar view

Add a Calendar view to any table. In the Calendar layout panel, pick:
  • Date — the date field that decides which day each entry sits on.
  • Duration (optional) — a number of days; each entry spans that many days from its date.
A table with no date field offers to create one. Calendar views that Hops already made for you open as calendars.

Edit alongside Hops

Ask Hops to work directly on the table:
  • Enrich rows — “fill in the Industry column for every row from the company’s website.”
  • Summarize — “give me a one-paragraph read on this pipeline.”
  • Add rows from a chat message, an email, or a doc.
  • Reconcile duplicates or normalize inconsistent values.
Updates from Hops appear as tracked changes you can accept or refine.

Import and export

  • Import CSV from the table’s ... menu to bring in existing data.
  • Export CSV to send outside Hops.
  • Copy link to share the table with anyone with access to the Space.
  • Duplicate into another Space to reuse as a template.

Tables as Hops context

Ask Hops in the Space to fill in missing values, summarize the table, or add a row from a chat message. Hops can read and update any table in a Space it’s a member of.
Start small. It’s easier to teach Hops about a five-column tracker than a fifty-column one.
